This month the employee spotlight is on Gloria Matthews
Congratulations to Gloria Matthews for earning this month’s employee spotlight. Gloria is one of our Weighmasters at our South Chicago Terminal, we had a chance to ask Gloria some questions;
Q: What do you love most about your job?
A: The most important thing that I love is being able to support my team, being accurate and dependable.
Q: Describe an interesting hobby or pastime that you have.
A: I enjoy reading and listening to smooth jazz. Listening to my favorite artists Boney James, Gerald Albright, Brian Culbertson, while reading books by my favorite authors, Mary Monroe, James Baldwin & James Patteson
Q: How have you impacted the team’s success?
A: By being dependable, experienced and committed to doing the job right.
Q: Who or what inspires you professionally?
A: My family is who inspires me.
My mother and father have always told me that success and respect is earned, not given to you. They taught me that consistency, reliability, integrity and accountability should always be a part of my life. They have taught me that hard work never hurts anyone, it just makes you stronger. These are words that I try to live by day to day.
Q: What makes you proud to be a part of this organization?
A: I am proud to be a part of an organization that makes me feel appreciated, valued and respected. This organization has given me so many opportunities to learn, which makes me feel trusted and relied on to do my job well.
Q: Age old question…cats or dogs?
A: Team Dogs!!!
